More than 30 speakers will present including Lauren Corbut, a primetime producer at The Weather Channel; and Katherine McLane, former vice president of communications at Livestrong Foundation.

“Our faculty members have terrific contacts within the professions, and many students have made valuable professional contacts over the years during Mass Comm Week,” said Beth Clark, director of Mass Comm Week. “We appreciate the speakers who take time out of their schedules to visit campus. Thanks to technology, this year we’ll also host some far-flung speakers at Skype, including Annie Werner of Tumblr, based in New York City; and alumna Bharati Naik of CNN International.”

Other featured presenters include:

  • Michele Tanzola, marketing and public information manager for the City of Austin Fire Department, who will speak at the Round Rock campus.
  • Robert Kolker, contributing editor at New York Magazine and author of the book, “Lost Girls,” who will present “A Conversation with Robert Kolker” at Centennial Hall on the San Marcos campus.
  • Denise Malan, data director for the Investigative News Network and IRE, who will present an introduction to IRE and her background in the business on the San Marcos campus.
